IDEAS INTO ACTION

We’re always busy turning ideas into action, from hands-on local projects  to national and international initiatives that reach much further afield. Whether it’s fundraising, practical volunteering or sharing our skills, each project is designed to make a real, measurable difference, and there’s always a way for new members to get involved.

HUMANITARIAN AID TO UKRAINE

One of our members regularly travels with the Juggernauts to Ukraine, accompanying the vehicles and helping to oversee the safe delivery of everything we send. By being there in person, they can ensure that donations reach the people and organisations they are intended for, rather than being diverted or wasted. This direct involvement gives our club, and our supporters, real reassurance that the help we provide is both genuine and effective.

Through this partnership we’ve collected wax for candle-making, medicines and medical supplies, funded stretchers, supplied warm clothing and supported many other practical needs as they arise. Each trip is carefully planned, and every item is chosen to meet a specific request from those working on the front line of the response.

LEEDS PRIDE

We proudly support the LGBT+ community and actively demonstrate that Rotary is a place where everyone is welcome. Our club works hard to create an environment where people can be themselves, without fear of judgement, and where diverse identities and experiences are valued. We believe that inclusion is not just a statement but something that should be visible in what we do, who we work with and how we treat one another.

We welcome members from all backgrounds, religions, genders, sexual orientations and ages, and we encourage openness, respect and equal participation in every aspect of club life. Whether it’s the projects we choose, the events we support or the way we meet and socialise, we aim to reflect the full diversity of our communities. By standing alongside the LGBT+ community and other underrepresented groups, we hope to show that Rotary can be a positive, supportive space for everyone who wants to make a difference.

SUPPORTING PEOPLE & INSPIRING YOUTH

Happy Days is a registered charity providing shelter, food and a wide range of support for people affected by homelessness and crisis. As a club, we are exploring practical ways to help them continue their outstanding work, from fundraising and awareness-raising to hands-on volunteering and project support. By working alongside Happy Days, we aim to play a small part in helping people move from crisis towards stability and a more hopeful future.

We are also developing a range of youth projects that give young people the chance to learn new skills, grow in confidence and have their voices heard. This includes enterprise-style competitions, creative challenges and events that bring young people together to celebrate their ideas and achievements. By supporting youth initiatives locally, we hope to inspire the next generation of leaders, volunteers and community champions.

General fundraising

We regularly hold fundraisers and each time nominate where the funds will go to. Every penny donated goes to the nominee. We take no money for admin.

People sometimes ask why they have to pay a subscription to be a Rotarian - well - it's so that WE cover any admin costs meaning that every penny raised at a fundraiser genuinely got to the cause we're funding for.

HELP US TURN FUNDRAISING INTO IMPACT

We’re always looking for creative ways to raise funds so we can keep our projects running and start new ones. From simple coffee mornings and quizzes to larger events and partnerships, every pound raised goes straight back into supporting communities here and abroad. If you enjoy organising events, have fundraising experience, or just fancy getting involved and trying something new, we’d love you to join us and help turn good ideas into real impact.
