• Combined 24 years of Rotary involvement; 22 years as Rotarians
• Gary has served three terms as Club President; Tina has served multiple terms as Club
Treasurer
• Gary devised a useful spreadsheet for planning fundraising events and keeping track of where
the money was dispersed, known as the Fundraising Matrix, ensuring compliance with Charity
Commission rules
• Gary Developed and ran a community based riverside Gala for 9 years, which attracted several
thousand people each year
• Tina ran tombolas, mulled wine and mince pie stalls, street collections, and performed
marshalling duties a cycle ride events, as well as helped man British Legion poppy appeals
• Gary organised and ran 3 major cycling events for Prostate Cancer UK , and other local charities
in Cambridgeshire raising about £6K
• Gary organised and ran a webinar “an evening with John Humphrys” of Mastermind fame raised
around £1K for his kitchen table charity
• Gary devised and ran innovative online fund-raising events for local foodbanks and
Manorlands Hospice which together raised about £3K
• Gary ran a Global Giving crowdfunding event for Martin House Children’s Hospice raising
about £3K
• Gary was awarded a PHF in 2024
• Gary & Tina founded the Aire Valley Eagles Rotary Group in May 2025, now comprising
approximately 20 Rotarians and volunteers
• Gary leads the Community Project Support Scheme, the group’s flagship initiative which
currently provides ongoing support to the Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid
(HTUHA) Group
o Established a local donor network and a consolidation hub for sorting, assessing, and
repacking humanitarian aid
o Developed transport capability to deliver aid from the hub directly to HUHA –
Huddersfield Express
o Delivered more than one ton of aid to date, including ~300 kg of wax for trench candles
o Designed and delivered an innovative fundraiser for HUHA, raising approximately £3,500
• Future plans for AV Eagles Rotary include expanding collaboration with local organisations,
developing new income streams for HTUHA, and establishing a “100 Club” to provide them with
monthly support
